Into the Spider-Verse – Spider-Gwen Mask
Gwen Stacy, aka Spider gwen mask, is one of the most popular characters to emerge from Marvel’s multiverse. She is a high school student who’s friends with Peter Parker and Miles Morales in this alternate universe. She is also the leader of a band called The Mary Janes. Throughout Into the Spider-Verse, Gwen demonstrates her quick wit and genetic knowledge as she helps combat crime. She also has a strong sarcastic sense of humor and is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in.
It’s no surprise that she would be a natural for being a superhero. While Gwen does not have the super strength that her father had, she makes up for it with her advanced agility and Spider-Sense. The film takes many cues from the 2015 run of Spider-Woman comics, written by Dennis Hopeless and illustrated by Javier Rodriguez. The look of her costume, motorcycle, and pregnancy are all pulled straight from those issues.
When Gwen is talking about her time as a member of an elite Spider-Man team she mentions that they had to go to “a Shakespearean dimension”. This actually refers to Earth-311, the home of the character Peter Parquagh who became The Spider in the Marvel 1602 storyline set during the Roanoke colony.
During the credits, we see Gwen sitting on the roof of her school with a group of students, all of whom are wearing Spider-Gwen costumes. Her locker is shown with feminist quotes and science jokes as well as her color-scheme and the logo for her band The Mary Janes. Spider gwen mask
