Paper Quilling Earrings and Necklaces
Bring the time-honored art of paper rolling into the 21st century with this stylish DIY. These elegant paper quilled earrings are simple to make and can be made in a variety of color combinations. These easy to wear earrings are attached to hypoallergenic hooks and can easily be matched with matching necklaces for a coordinated look.
These delicately hand-crafted earrings are made using eco-friendly paper quilling strips and earring hooks. The materials required for this project are affordable and can be reused for future projects.
You can also create a colorful coordinating necklace with these same basic steps. The necklace featured in this article uses the same design as the earrings but is a bit longer and features a looped pendant.
Licia Politis of the blog Creative Paper Quilling takes this classic technique and gives it a modern twist with her glam Petal Power Lariat Necklace in shades of purple and gold. Licia reworks this design to suit her own aesthetic and combines the petal shapes into a stunning flower lariat with added discs and a metallic rick rack.
To make the flower shape, start with two teardrop shaped coils in your chosen color and glue them to each other, keeping their pointy ends facing the same direction. Add the first eye-shaped coil to the center of the circle and then continue adding your eye-shaped coils around the outside of the flower.

You can also give your pieces a metallic shine by pressing a silver, gold or copper ink pad against rolled coils. Paper Quilling Jewelry
