What Is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty is an aesthetic surgery that changes the shape or size of a person’s nose. It can also improve breathing.

During a rhinoplasty, the surgeon removes or adds to cartilage and bone. They may also reshape or change the function of the nose by lifting the tip, narrowing the nostrils, or straightening the bridge line. A rhinoplasty can also correct a deviated septum.

The goal is to achieve results that look natural for the patient. Many patients want a softer, more feminine, or more refined nose. Others are more concerned with the overall size of the nose or its proportion to the rest of the face.

Before a patient undergoes rhinoplasty, our surgeons will meet with them to discuss their expectations and goals. They will also review the patient’s medical history to see if there are any conditions or medications that could affect their surgery or recovery.

During the recovery period, the nose will be covered with a plastic splint for one or two weeks and cotton gauze (packing) will be placed inside the nose to absorb blood and help maintain the new shape of the nose as it heals. It is important to protect the nose from direct contact with sunlight and other irritants to avoid sunburn or scarring. If the appearance of your nose is a major source of distress, cognitive behavioral therapy or other psychological treatment may be helpful. If you aren’t satisfied with your results, a second rhinoplasty procedure can be done once the nose is fully healed (this may take up to a year). nose job price
